Bandpass Filter

uv bandpass filters can separate a band of monochromatic light, the ideal transmittance of band-pass filter through the bandwidth is 100%, while the actual band-pass filter pass band is not the ideal square. The actual optical bandpass filter generally has a center wavelength λ0, a transmittance T0, a half width of the pass band (FWHM, a distance between two positions where the transmittance in the pass band is half the peak transmittance), the cutoff range and other key parameters to describe.

 

Band-pass filter is divided into narrow-band filter and broadband filter.

 

In general, a very narrow bandwidth or high cut-off steepness will make the product more difficult to process; meanwhile the pass band transmittance and cut-off depth is also a contradictory indicator

 

Hyperion Opticsband-pass filters are composed of a stack of equally spaced dielectric layers. The number of layers and thicknesses are calculated with excellent cut-off depth (typically up to OD5 or higher), better steepness and a high transmittance (70% narrowband, 90% broadband).

Optical Dome

 Glass domes are widely used for commercial applications which require protective boundary between different environments; domes perform as windows, providing protection to electronic sensors or detectors without sacrificing field of view.

 

Composed of two parallel optical surfaces, domes have no optical effect on design optical path. In lead element in an optical system, a dome is exposed to the environment, N-BK7 is good choice for visible to near infrared lead applications, which will withstand wind and rain erosion. Typically in single-use defense applications and ocean exploration. Shapes can vary from hemispheric to custom size with coatings.

 

At Hyperion Optics, we have strict control of wall thickness variation spec by utilizing most reliable deterministic CNC machine tools, we grind and polish optical glass, fused silica and zinc sulfide for applications range from visible to infrared.

 

N-BK7 and H-K9L domes: N-BK7 domes are available directly from stock, and are used primarily in meteorology applications. BK7 offers excellent transmission from 300nm up to 2µm. BK7 is a relatively hard material, with excellent chemical durability. Our custom BK7 glass transmission are practically free from bubbles and inclusions, making them perfect for high performance visible applications.

 

UV fused silica domes: For applications operating in the deeper UV range, we offer a range of UV fused silica domes. Fused silica domes are commonly used in underwater applications at extremely high pressures. Our Corning 7890 2G and Spectrosil 2000 fused silica both offer over 85% transmission at wavelengths as low as 185nm.

 

Zinc Sulfide domes: For infrared applications we can provide optical domes. Sapphire is an extremely hard material with transmission of over 80% in the 2-5µm wavelength range. As with fused silica, sapphire is able to withstand extreme pressures, making it the perfect material for underwater camera and infrared-guided missile applications.

Rod and Cone Lenses

 Rod lensesoptical performance is similar to cylindrical lenses, incident collimated light passes through the polished circumference of the rod lens will be formed into a line. Variety of laser and imaging applications utilize rod lenses as line generator optics.

Line Generating Fresnel Lenses

 Hyperion Optics provides various fan angle line generating cylindrical fresnel lens for laser alignment and machine vision applications. Unlike ordinary cylindrical lenses, line generating Fresnel lenses can produce uniform distribution of energy along the line.

 

We provide in both optical glass (N-BK7 or equivalent) and plastic version for your specific requirement. With our highly efficient cementing techniques, we support low volume customized solution and performance trial. Please note, free sampling is available upon request for all fan angle products.

 

Diameter varies from 4mm to 8mm, 2/2.5mm +/-0.1mm in center thickness. Fan angle available from 110°, 20°, 14°, 10°, or custom made. Our optical glass version line generating Fresnel lenses have much better imaging quality, which is also high working temperature durable. Compared to rod lenses, our products are much easier to mount.

BBO Crystal

 The BBO Crystal is a high-temperature phase of BaB2O4, is an excellent birefringent crystal an efficient NLO crystal for the second, third and fourth harmonic generation of Nd: YAG lasers, and the best NLO crystal for the fifth harmonic generation at 213 nm. Conversion efficiencies of more than 70% for SHG, 60% for THG and 50% for 4HG, and 200 mW output at 213 nm (5HG) have been obtained, respectively. BBO Crystal has been widely used in 2,3,4 or 5 harmonic generations for high power visible/UV sources, and optical parametric conversions for high power broadly tunable sources.
